"Which thing which you consume the most?" asked one of our professors. And the whole class unanimously answered – "CONTENT." This brought my attention to - 1) Almost everyone understands and acknowledges the importance of data & content, and 2) Yet, we don't see much activity taking place in this space or any content-focused startup becoming a unicorn. So, we decided to find out the activities in this space, and we got an exciting startup – Instoried.
Founded by Sharmin Ali, Instoried is a deep-tech platform that analyses the emotional quotient of the written content and gives customized recommendations to optimize the content. Emotions drive consumer decision-making, and Instoried helps content creators and brands create "emotionally" engaging content, thereby increasing their ROI and boosting engagement. Now, how is this done? – not surprisingly, it's AI to the rescue again. The Company's proprietary AI-based tech has been built using 7mn+ data points to maximize accuracy. So, when you write something – the tool will analyze it and display the tone & emotion of your content, give multiple semantically and contextually relevant recommendations and thereby enhance the content's empathy. It works in two content formats - text & video analysis and supports two languages - English & Hindi.
Till now, the results have been encouraging as well. Instoried's customers have seen increased leads of 3x per post, increasing the ROI by 2x in less than 6 months. This has helped the Company get 30+ enterprise customers globally, across retail, FMCG, Tech, and Insurance sectors.
Coming to the financials, the Company follows a dual revenue model. SaaS model for SMEs & content companies while a Retainer fees model for large enterprises. India is on the cusp of becoming the largest market for content marketing, and the influx of digital media has acted as a catalyst in creating the momentum for the same. The Global content marketing tech industry is also expected to grow at a CAGR of 18% and reach $9bn by 2023, and the Company is well placed to take advantage of this. Sensing the vast market opportunity, Instoried is now trying to expand globally, introduce more languages, and launch new features, including launching its own keyboard to gauge the emotions in chat and give real-time recommendations.
